Lapwing | Chunky Mug

The lapwing has beautiful iridescent green feathers, as seen in this illustration by Angus Grant. The bird is a summer visitor to the north and make their nests on rough bare ground. They have a distinctive call that gives them one of their alternative names - peewit.
