Learn how to make beautiful ceramics with this brilliant evening course taught by Angus Grant

Our ever-popular course is back in 2025 and we are ready to welcome you to the pottery. Clay Club is perfect for those starting out with pottery, as it covers a range of basic skills over a period of eight weeks.

What you will learn

Starting out with basic handbuilding skills to make pinch pots and mugs, you will move onto slab building and of course, throwing on the wheel. Angus will also show how to create beautiful decorative effects using sgraffito. And there will be a chance to glaze your pots, choosing from our selection of glazes. 

All tools are provided, along with source imagery for inspiration -though you are welcome to bring your images to work from.

You will make mugs, a vase and some pots but there will be an opportunity to work on your own projects. Previous students have made jugs, coffee pots, butterdishes and jewellery holders!

The cost of the course includes five pieces to take home. Any additional items to be fired will be charged at £10 per piece to cover firing costs.

This course will run on Tuesday evenings, from 7-9pm, starting on January 28. The final session will be on March 18.
